Just tried to access the VPS and found that routing is down and all hosting is dead.

According to the status page (http://serverstatus.valuemembers.net/newmss/dgate.php) there are no outages, planned or unplanned.

A traceroute using VisualRoute reports:
IP packets are not moving from network "Affinity Internet, Inc AFFINITY-207-234-128-0" to network "Affinity Internet, Inc AFFINITY-1" at hops 15-16.

From my VPS Control Panel (seems to be the same as the Dedicated-Server CP) I found this link:

Network Service Level Agreement

We stand behind our network's 100% reliability, and Dedicated Support members** receive aggressive refund policy in the industry. While our competition offers only 5-25% discounts for downtime, Gate.com refunds you up to 100%. See the chart below for a comparison of our refund policy, versus those of our competitors.

The route appears to be intermittently recovering right now, but is still losing a good few packets.

The route now appears to be stable.

same problem here - had the problem yesterday for over an hour - now the routing has been done for way longer then that.

if i do a windows tracert the last i get correct is 207.234.128.45

after that everything dead.

Staff: I have been with gate.com for a little more then 1 week now, and this is the second major outage. Will i be reimbursed for the outage since you guys do have the uptime guarantee? Who to ask for reimbursement?

Right now i am thinking about switching to another provide r- again - lots of work and very time-consuming. so whats your advice?

Yeah, that was moderately annoying. All of the sudden my SSH connection dropped and I was completely unable to connect to my VPS. But hey, at least I got ruby installed and working right before it did. :)
